Manifold Cloud Live Production Software
Introducing Manifold cloud live production software that runs on the dual NIC 100 Gbps arkona AT300 and other COTS FPGA programmable accelerators. Manifold cloud is a service activated software that pools resources on-demand within a private cloud environment. PACS (processors) are pooled into Clusters, i.e., virtual private clouds, or more simply “Live broadcast productions”.
Through a single sign-on, operators access the Clusters and assign what resources they plan to use for that production, i.e., switchers, video/audio processing, color correction, UDX conversions, DMV. Once Clusters are created, they can be saved as projects or broadcast shows that can be recalled again and again. The footprint is incredibly small, and the power consumption is ridiculously low due to the use of FPGA’s. The density is very high, for example, using the 1.6TB FPGA server together with the Manifold software, in one 1RU you can achieve 128 x 64 heads with 4K/UHD, or 512 x 128 in 3G. And, because of the on-board scaling you get the down conversions for free – for example 4K sources have high quality scaled 3G proxies automatically. Did I mention that Clusters can be organized in a self-healing N+X, depending on the redundancy you want for those streams.
